AS INTRODUCED



A RESOLUTION DECLARING that signage be created, put in place permanently, and maintained by Rogers State University, warning drivers of the sharp curve located at the university’s east entrance, and its potential to cause a crash when taken at speeds higher than ten (10) miles per hour.



WHEREAS many crashes have taken place at the east entrance causing injuries to students and others



WHEREAS driving conditions such as ice, snow and rain potentiate the risk of a crash



WHEREAS the turning radius required to make the turn safely is relatively small compared to those parallel to it



WHEREAS the Rogers State University Student Government Association and its members care very deeply about the safety and livelihood of all of our students, faculty, employees and guests



NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY ROGERS STATE UNIVERSITY STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION STUDENT SENATE:



THAT Rogers State University will place a brightly colored sign at the east entrance of our campus, in view of drivers on Will Rogers Boulevard that warns them of the hazardous turning radius, sets an appropriate speed limit for safely completing said turn, contains the Student Government official symbol to let the campus know we are working hard for them, and delegates its maintenance to appropriate employee(s) which is to include; keeping it visible at all times, replacing it when it is weathered, defaced, and (or) damaged for the remainder of the time the turn remains at its current radius.
